The beginning of my journey

I was sound asleep in my room one morning when my mom came bursting through the door. She told me to get up, and that Prof. Oak was waiting for me at his lab. I couldn't wait to see what prof. Oak had to show me that was so important. I quickly pulled on some clothes and ran as fast as I could, I could barily contain myself. When I arrived I noticed many men in white coats, but I couldn't see the Proffessor. I quickly walked up to his desk where I saw my most hated rival (rivals name), he was sitting there arrogantly as usually, this was when he boldly told me that the Prof wasn't here. I couldn't stand him but I realized he was right. Just when I was about to leave the Prof came bursting in. He quickly greeted me and asked if I would like a pokemon to take the gym leader challenge. How could I decline this offer I thought to myself. The Prof quickly showed me the pokemon, I of course took charmander because he was my favourite. I decided to name him Blaze. After I had picked my starting buddy my rival boldly butted in and said " what about me?" The prof was only to happy to help, he handed him a warn out pokeball and he was on his way out the door. I quickly followed after hoping he wouldn't get to far ahead. I quickly thanked the prof, and he handed me some pokeballds, and some greatballs to help me catch some more friends. I was quickly out the door, I began my journey walking down route 1.
