Well, what mean is like when May wasn't battling, she was on the deck, watching the battle and talking to other trainers.

Example:

As I walked into the lounge with Chinchar in my hands, I saw Kevin(Pokeowwww) playing with his pokemon.

"Hi Kevin"

"Oh hi Lucas, I haven't seen you in a while"
