Derrek begins to wake up. The alarm begins to sound from behind, Ring ring! Ring ring! He got up and stopped the alarm.

"Damn. Sometimes I wished that the alarm wouldn't sound off and wake me up...oh well. What can I do?" He quietly got into the shower and of course took one.
Derrek got out of the shower and got dressed. He decided to wear the usual black jeans and shirt. Just as he finished, his mom came in the room, "Are you going to be leaving soon?"

"Of course mom. It is my first day and I really want to get out. Besides, I've always been waiting to get out."

"Oh fine. But promise me this. You will keep in touch. Okay?" Derrek's mom was starting to nag and he could hear the slight tone of care in her voice. He gave her a hug and a kiss and walked out the door with his backpack in hand. Now he was heading to the Professor's lab.

The day was great. The sun was shining over head with clouds all over place. Going to the Professor's Lab was like having a dream come true. From where Derrek was standing he could see the lab and the few pokemon roaming the field. Not able to hold his excitement, he began running. Before Derrek knew it, he was already at the door knocking and patiently awaiting for an answer. Finally someone answered the door, "Yes? Who is it?" The Professor was curious as to who was at the door.

"It's a new trainer professor. I am here to claim my companion to see the world with." The Professor opened the door. He was actually a young professor. Sleek black spiky hair, very tall and glasses. He didn't' seem like much but he was very smart for his age about pokemon.

"Come on in. Follow me. Please don't mind the mess at the moment. I just had a few pokemon run through here and just trashed the place." The Professor felt kind of ashamed to have a messy room.

"Oh don't worry about it Professor. My room can turn out like this sometimes." Derrek tried to help the Professor feel better. The pair made it to the room where the pokeballs where being held. Derrek knew which he wanted. He had a dream of what would happen and knew which pokeball he wanted. He walked around and found the ball that was in his dreams.

He asked, "Professor, if I may take a wild guess....does this pokeball contain a pikachu?" The young Professor looked at him with a shock.

"Why...why yes it is. How did you know? You didn't sneak in here one night did you?"

"Professor, I would never do such a thing. To be honest, this might sound odd but I had a dream and I knew where it was."

Derrek grabbed the pokeball and asked the Professor if he could let out. The Professor had no problem with it.
